Golden Reunion Begins at Mirabella

Golden Reunion Begins at Mirabella

Jan 18, 2022

50 years of just about anything calls for a celebration, and now some very patient grads are finally getting their due. Graduates from the ASU classes of 1970 and 1971 celebrated a belated Golden Reunion at the winter graduation ceremony in December.

A Day of Festivities

The first day of festivities kicked off with introductions and a welcome breakfast at Mirabella for the 79 alums, including current Mirabella resident Patsey Brock—earning her BA in education in 1970. Patsey went on to marry Jim Brock, an ASU baseball coach for 22 years, making her connection to ASU particularly strong. At the breakfast, everyone had the chance to share what they’d been up to for the last 50 years, including some of their proudest moments. It was a wonderful way for the former classmates to reconnect.

After starting the day with revelry at Mirabella, the Golden Grads headed to Sun Devil Stadium for the official commencement ceremony. There were several events packed into the two-day reunion, which concluded with the time-honored and respected tradition of induction into the Golden Circle. A big congratulations once again to all the Golden Grads!
