MIRs and residents shared their favorite memories and expressed what the MIR program meant to them as our fledgling community took shape in this video:
All of the MIRs shared their most memorable moments and what their plans were for the summer:
Michelle
-
- Most Memorable Moments: residents concerts, Donna’s fused glass art class, Sunday brunches in Aria, piano lessons
- Summer plans: Michelle will be visiting family in Toronto before joining the Musiktheater Bavaria in Oberaudorf, Germany as their summer opera studio pianist. When she returns, she will start her second year in the the Doctorate of Music Arts program.
Alfredo

- Most Memorable Moments: Making music with residents, Friday Open Door Socials with neighbors!
- Summer Plans: Alfredo will be reuniting with his wife in Indiana before visiting New York. When he returns, he will enter his last year in the Doctorate of Music Arts program during which he will begin his dissertation exams and begin his dissertation.
Abby

- Most Memorable Moments: Guitar jam sessions with Bob, friendships with residents (sharing meals, Zumba class, and putting on special events like Tipsy Tea, Halloween, Christmas Caroling), the huge audience turnout at Music Man!
- Summer Plans: Abby graduated with her Masters in Music Therapy and will be moving to Mesa to work in an autism school and a retirement community.
Ty

- Most Memorable Moments: Performances in the lobby, art class and Sunday dinners with residents, chats with Mirabella staff, conducting the chorus.
- Summer Plans: will visit family in the Bahamas before entering his final semester in the Doctorate of Music Arts program with plans to graduate in December. Ty’s dissertation is called “The Power of Music: A study of how live-in Musician-in-Residence programs impact resident sense of belonging.”
